How can you chat with your MySpace friends with the desktop IM client?

If you want to chat with your MySpaceIM friends even when you're not on MySpace, we're here to help.

To download the MySpaceIM desktop client, here's what you do:

you can get the desktop app by clicking the Download Now button here
if you're using Internet Explorer, click Run to start installing; if you're using another browser, save the installer to your computer, then double-click to begin installation
enter your MySpace email log-in and password
if you don't have a MySpace profile, you'll be prompted to set up an account

you can also use Skype to talk with your friends for free so long as you have a working mic and either speakers or headphones
the first time you sign in, you'll automatically receive a Skype account and see either Call Phones or Make a free call below your list of contacts
before you try to make a call with Skype, be sure to check your video and audio settings by clicking File on your browser menu, choosing Preferences, selecting the appropriate devices under Microphone and Speaker and clicking OK to confirm
